Three of the four walks hurt him and wound up scoring as he gave up 5 runs (3 earned) and 5 hits in 6 innings of work while striking out 2. He ran into trouble in the 3rd inning when he got the bases loaded and gave up a 2-run single to Chipper Jones followed by a sac-fly to Andruw Jones. He then surrendered a 4th inning lead-off home run to Jeff Francour followed by a Kelly Johnson triple, who ended up scoring as well. The Rockies now fall to 9-15 on the season and are 5.5 games behind the Dodgers in the NL West. Click HERE for a recap of the game.

A tough 4th inning and a drought at the plate for the Rockies led to a 3-0 blanking by the Dodgers Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium. Jason cruised through the first 3 innings but ran into trouble in the 4th with 2 outs. He gave up a bloop hit to Juan Pierre followed by a Russell Martin single to right. While looking in for his sign with Pierre on second and Martin on first, Jason was oblivious to the double steal and when he stepped off it was too late. The very next pitch Nomar Garciaparra hit a line drive single to left field plating both Pierre and Martin. He then balked Garciaparra to second and Jeff Kent singled him home before Jason got out of the inning. It wouldn't have mattered as the Rockies only managed 2 hits, one from Ianetta and the other from Atkins in the first 2 innings. The Rockies bats were silenced for the rest of the game and were shutout. Jason will make his next start at home in Colorado against the Giants either Tuesday, April 17th. More about Jason's game can be read HERE.
